A blend of grapes from several excellent vineyards in unique cool climate areas across Sonoma County, our signature Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is consistently noted for its excellent value and superb balance. This gorgeous wine comes from a who’s who of the finest vineyards in the Russian River Valley including the Dutton family’s Jewell and Gamlen ranches, Mirabelle and Wohler vineyards, the Martinelli family’s Woolsey Ranch, and the Bacigalupi family’s Frost Vineyard. Together they create a stunning wine with gorgeous tropical fragrances of papaya and kiwi, along with more delicate floral notes of gardenia and hints of green melon and Key lime. The grapes for this beautifully distinctive Chardonnay came exclusively from Steve MacRostie’s own Wildcat Mountain Vineyard. This fog-shrouded mountaintop vineyard is a classic Sonoma Coast site. Cool and challenging, it yields wines of great distinction every year—and 2015 is no exception. On the palate, it is round and rich with alluring layers of Asian pear and fragrant orange blossom, as well as signature Wildcat notes of honey and spice.
