Paul Hobbs made the Laird Family wines since the first vintage in 1999, until Laird handed the reins in 2015 to Brian Mox. Brian was trained at MIT and UC Davis, is former winemaker for Lewis Cellars and Etude and has been a custom-crush winemaker at Laird since they opened. Laird wines are night-harvested from their favorite 3% of select estate vineyard sites, with annual production of about 10,000 total cases. Beyond their success as a grower and as a new winery, Laird Family Estate also operates a large scale custom-crush Winery for other producers (7,000 tons of grapes a year), presently home to 62 wineries including Selene, Scarecrow, Aubert, Corra, Hollywood & Vine and many others.
